How to Connect a Server to ServerAvatar

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to install the ServerAvatar agent on your server.

First, you’ll need to get yourself a server running 64-bit Ubuntu 16.04 or 14.04. This should be a new server. Haven’t got one, see our Virtual Server prices on

If your server provider instructed you to change your root password, be sure to do so before proceeding.

Next, in ServerAvatar, go to the Dashboard page and click + Add Server.

Enter your IP address, your root password Click Add server.

If you don’t have a root password, you can request this with your hostingprovider of your ServerMeister account.

ServerAvatar will check the connection and begin installing. It will also set up the firewall; PHP 5.6; Apache configured with .htaccess andmod_rewrite enabled; MySQL; and more.

Once the installation is complete, your server will show as connected in ServerAvatar, and you’ll be prompted to create your first app.
